Hello! I’m Sophie, pastry chef, cake enthusiast and baker of all your treats.

After spending my childhood eating copious amounts of cake batter I decided to make my love affair with desserts official and moved to London to train as a pastry chef. I completed my pâtisserie diploma whilst working at a chocolatier and pâtisserie, where I learnt the foundations of pastry as well as falling in love with all things chocolate.

After a further 3 years in London, working at a Yauatch Michelin starred restaurant, competing in pastry competitions and working in an artisan cake shop I moved back to my hometown of Newcastle where I worked for a year whilst training for The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts Annual Awards of Excellence, one of the most prestigious competitions for young pastry chefs in the UK. In the end all of my training and hard work paid off as I got the highest overall marks and was awarded Young Pastry Chef of The Year 2018.

Now I’m in Newcastle upon Tyne, having spent a bit of time with the lovely gang at Pollen Bakery in Manchester, I’ve set out by myself to bring you treats that taste as beautiful as they look using the best quality ingredients and classical pastry techniques.
